I created this layout in Photoshop by processing all the photos with a sepia tone finish and then used a monochromatic color scheme to keep the focus on the photos and the text. The layout highlights her season of basketball and love of the game.
I created this layout using only my focus photo, a plain white background, the line tool in Photoshop and my Bamboo Fun Tablet pen to create the textured borders. The Soccer ball is a photo I took that I made into an embellishment. Very simple layout that documents my daughter’s first season of soccer.

The mother of five busy children, Kayla’s philosophy with scrapbooking has always been, “Keep it simple.” That’s ultimately why she embraced going digital. Along with chronicling the everyday and extraordinary events of her immediate family, she also enjoys using photos she’s collected of her extended family dating back to the 1800’s.
Since 2006, she’s been blogging about digital scrapbooking at www.thelegacylady.com. And she’s currently on the creative team for Digital Scrapbooking Magazine.
The yin to her creative yang, Kayla is also passionate about teaching. In addition to her online education site, www.digiscrap101.com, she also recently created a digital scrapbooking curriculum and facilitated a class at Weber State University.
I love it! but then again, i love everything you do
that b/w layout is awesome. I don’t think i have done one like this before.
Cool! I enjoyed the video. I do not have a tablet, so it’s fun to see how it is used in scrapbooking.

Super Kayla!
Hi Kayla! Just followed your links here to this beautiful page you’ve done! Great work!
Kayla! What a treat to see your work. I have a tablet that I haven’t taken out of the box yet. I think that will be changing quickly… Also love your monochromatic layout. I struggle with this very lighting issue for indoor volleyball as well. Great to “see you”, Kelly
Great stuff, Kayla! Supercute and elegant!
Kayla…LOVED your tutorial on PSE 6…The Basics and went to your website and feel like I “hit the jackpot” of some excellent resourcing! I have been “tearing my hair out with PSE 6″.
I have a dear childhood friend with the same last name as you…I was wondering if she is any relation? Her name is Kathy Reid, now…but was Kathy L’Amoreauz when we were in school together. Her Mom was Alice and Dad was Clark. Do you know her?
Really enjoy your examples of the Bamboo Fun pen…I have been looking for something like this. My immediate goal is to learn digital scrapbooking…and then would like to design. I am a watercolor and acrylic painting artist…also do colored pencil art.
Thank you for your time in doing the wonderful Tutorials!

Thanks for the kind comments! Donna – if she is from AZ it is a good chance we are related.
If not, we are still related – just too distant to know!
Glad you are enjoying the tutorials.
Love it as usual, great job!!
Beautiful work Kayla!
You feel the spirit and the action of doing sports in you”re picture
Love this look!
